IT Governance launches business continuity management webinar series to support organizational resilience

10/04/2018

IT Governance, a leading authority on data protection, risk management, and compliance solutions, is launching a webinar series that aims to provide a comprehensive overview of business continuity management (BCM), its benefits, and its processes.

BCM involves planning for potential disasters by identifying threats and analyzing their impact on an organization’s operations. Effective BCM ensures the minimum level of service acceptable in the event of a disruptive incident, and helps protect corporate reputation, image, and revenue.

Alan Calder, founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, said: “Business continuity is the most comprehensive way for an organization to ensure resilience to unexpected or unforeseen situations that can interfere with its ability to function and to protect the interests of its customers and owners. IT Governance has extensive experience in helping organizations create ISO 22301-aligned business continuity management systems, and we are looking forward to sharing our insight through our new BCM webinar series.”

ISO 22301 is the international standard that provides a framework for a best practice BCMS. Certification can provide evidence that an organization has taken the necessary steps to comply with regulatory requirements that call for effective BCM measures, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Directive on security of network and information systems (NIS Directive).

IT Governance’s new BCM webinar series provides a comprehensive introduction to BCM and the key aspects involved in implementing a BCMS aligned with ISO 22301. The webinars will be delivered by Tony Drewitt, IT Governance’s managing director and one of the first BCM consultants to support a client in achieving registration under BS 25999-2, the forerunner of ISO 22301. Tony is also a leading business continuity author, having written A Manager’s Guide to ISO22301ISO22301: A Pocket Guide, and Everything you want to know about Business Continuity

The first webinar, Business Continuity Management: How to get started, will run on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 9:00–10:00 am (EDT). It will be followed by:

  • Business Continuity Management: Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment – Thursday, May 3, 2018, 9:00–10:00 am (EDT) - Register now >>
